We're back at it this year, and we're looking for dedicated volunteers to help make the Meet Rack a success once again! The role of Rack Monitor is essential to the safety, flow, and fun of the Rack, and we need some extra hands and sharp eyes to help things run smoothly.
Rack Monitor is a great role for folks who don't want to go on the rack themselves or aren't looking to participate directly, but still want to be actively involved.
We're splitting the monitor role into two halves so it's easier to volunteer and still participate in the Rack.
We Really need you!
What Do Rack Monitors Do?
Monitors are our front line for keeping the space respectful, consensual, and fun. Responsibilities include:
- Enforcing the Rules of the Rack and maintaining general order
- Keep an eye out for inappropriate behaviors and prevent them from continuing
- Assisting people getting on and off the rack
- Distributing gloves and other supplies
- Providing general support, help, and problem-solving as needed
Read Everything about the Rack, and The Monitor Guide before you volunteer
The total time commitment is:
- Come to the Meet Rack ION (expected to be Saturday at lunch) for a 15min meeting to meet and coordinate, ask questions, etc.
- Saturday evening 1 or 2 slots (yes, there is a 30min overlap for a smooth handoff):
- Slot 1: 6:30 - 8:30pm
- Slot 2: 8:00 - 10:00pm
We're looking for at least 16 Full time monitors (32 half slots) total, hopefully more!
Some of the monitors will be to help with the Meet Locker and crowd control.
Meet Rack Setup Crew
In addition to monitors, the Meet Rack we need volunteers to help us set up and tear down the space. It is a quick transition between the end of classes and the beginning of the party, and we desperately need all the extra help we can get here.
This is a great opportunity to help make the Rack a successful experience for everyone while still getting the opportunity to participate in the grope-a-thon!
Saturday evening 7-8pm
We are particularly looking for people with these (not required) skills:
- Have comfort with tying basic knots and rope tension
- Feel comfortable climbing/standing on precarious things
- Can move heavy items
If you're able to help, please reach out to Fetlife - Melee or Fetlife - Torque or @Melee or @Torque on Discord as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance — we can't do it without you!
